A Walking Play
The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex is a one-woman walking play that depicts the lives of Captain George Pollard, Jr., First Mate Owen Chase, and Cabin Boy Thomas Nickerson…and their experiences aboard the whaleship. We will “join” all three characters as they tell their individual stories of survival under the most harrowing of life experiences.
